Talent Development Internship
T-Mobile USA, Inc.
Position Purpose
As an intern in the Editing/Desktop Publishing department, you will work within a curriculum development team that creates training for T-Mobile employees. This position reports to the Curriculum Manager, Editing & Desktop Publishing.
Position requirements
- Edit curriculum materials written by Instructional Designers. This is largely copyediting but may include some developmental/content editing.
- Ensure consistency of published training documents in language, format, and visual style.
- Format and publish documents with the following tools: structured Adobe FrameMaker, Advantica Sourcerer, Quadralay WebWorks Publisher, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Excellent writing skills, with strong command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation rules. (Previous professional editing experience is not required, but candidates must complete an editing test to assess their proficiency in grammar, spelling, and punctuation.)
- Ability to quickly learn new software tools
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Proficiency in the use of Adobe FrameMaker is not required but is a plus

Requirements |
Education
- Year in School: Junior, Senior or Graduate Student
- Desired Majors: Technical Communications, English, Liberal Arts (with writing focus)
Environmental/Physical Demands
- Seeing: Ability to read reports, computer monitors, and to communicate with coworkers.
- Hearing: Ability to hear well enough to communicate with customers and coworkers.
- Mobility: Ability to open file drawers, operate fax and copier machines, move between departments, and attend meetings.
- Dexterity: Ability to write, type and use telephone system. Proficiency in a Windows environment.

- Timeframe: Start August 2008 or sooner if available
- Relocation not offered for internship positions.
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in academic coursework or have graduated within the past 6 months to be eligible for an internship.
